viflow does not start (no error message)

It can happen that viflow does not start when the program is called. Neither error messages nor other information about the cause of the problem appear.

This behavior is usually caused by corrupted files in temporary directories. After deleting these files or folders, viflow should start normally again.

Open and delete the affected folders

  1. Open the Run app using the keyboard shortcut [WINDOWS] + [R].
  2. In the Open field, enter %localappdata%\ViCon.
  3. Confirm with the OK button or with the [ENTER ] key.
    The ViCon folder in the Temp directory opens.
  4. Delete all folders in the %localappdata%\ViCon directory – except for the viflow folder.
Delete

Do not delete “viflow”

The viflow folder is absolutely required and must not be deleted!

  1. Now open the second folder %appdata%\ViCon as described above in steps 1-3.
  2. Delete all contents of the folder.
  3. Start the viflow program again.

All articles in viflow + Visio

  • Process model cannot be opened because it is not compatible
  • Process Model cannot be exported as WebModel
  • Diagnostics, Logging and Event Viewer for viflow
  • Empty process graphics cannot be deleted
  • Export as WebModel takes an unusually long time
  • Shape cannot be deleted from graphic
  • Message "Insufficient Permissions" during import
  • viflow does not start (no error message)
  • Perform online repair of Microsoft Visio
  • Restore Process Model (from backup or WebModel)
  • Differences: viflow subscription version | viflow 9 purchase version
  • Error "No suitable Visio version" when starting viflow
