A viflow process model is saved with all process graphics, additional information and details in a single file and can be in three different file types with different file extensions – *.vfpx, *.vftx and *.vfbx.

viflow process model – *.vfpx

The VFP format is the standard file type when you work with viflow, the classic so to speak. The *.vfpx file extension stands for V i F low process model. If you model and save in viflow and do not select any other file type, the process model is always saved as *.vfpx.

viflow process model template – *.vftx

When creating a new process model in viflow, you can choose from a number of predefined process model templates. It may already contain information or area types, processes, information or areas, for example. viflow process model templates are in *.vftx format and can be edited like viflow process models (*.vfpx). All process models can be saved and reused as process model templates.

viflow process model backup – *.vfbx

Backup files are of the *.vfbx file type and are created by viflow if you have activated the backup option under File – Options. A process model can also be saved manually as a backup. If you rename a *.vfbx file to *.vfpx, this file can be opened and edited as a process model in viflow.
