Information can be created in different ways:

> When ››› modeling by dragging an information shape from the template onto the drawing sheet and then editing the properties,
> when creating directly in the process model (window information, information structure, overview, explorer) for later use in graphics,
> by ››› importing information or (information) lists from viflow process models or from other formats (e.g. Excel or Access).

All information on detailing information as well as on local and global data can be found in the chapter ››› Properties of information.

How to create new Information Object in the Process Model

  1. On the Home tab, click the Information button.
Alternatively, right-click in the Information window (or Information Structure, Overview, Explorer window) and select [ ] New – Information.
  2. Now enter the name of the information directly in the window.
    Confirm the entry with [ENTER].
  3. The new information now appears in the window and can be further detailed in the properties window (context menu [ ] > Properties) or modeled as an information graphic (context menu [ ] > Open).

Creating new Information Objects with hyperlink

You can create several new pieces of information with a hyperlink to a file in one step.

  1. Mark the file(s) to be linked (e.g. *.docx, *.pdf etc.) in Windows Explorer.
  2. Drag the selected files directly into the window or onto a folder in the Info window.
viflow automatically creates new information with hyperlinks to the corresponding files. New information is given the name of the linked file.
  3. Double-click the new information in the window to open the Properties window and add or change short names, long names, or other details, if necessary.
    Finally, click OK.
Delete

If you drag a file from Windows Explorer directly onto a piece of information (not onto a folder) in the Information window, the hyperlink to the file is automatically stored in the information's properties.
